The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) is committed to the advancement of neuroscience nursing as a specialty through the development and support of nurses to promote excellence in patient care.
Vision
The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN), as the leading authority in neuroscience nursing, inspires passion in nurses and creates the future for the specialty.
The South Carolina Upstate Chapter of the AANN is comprised of nurses and other healthcare providers who are working together to improve the knowledge base and recognition of neuroscience nursing in the region.
The South Carolina Upstate Chapter of AANN is a local chapter chartered by the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN). Membership is open to all health care providers and students who participate in the care of or are primarily interested in neuroscience patients.
In the spring of 2007 a group of Acute Care neuroscience nurses committed to revitalizing an inactive local chapter of AANN. Believing that neuroscience nursing is a unique and complex specialty the chapter was developed to:
(1) elevate the recognition of neuroscience nurses in the health care setting and in the community
(2) provide an opportunity for education on neuroscience topics
(3) enhance the care of neuroscience patients and
(4) provide a forum for networking with other neuroscience health care providers.
The South Carolina Upstate Chapter of AANN meets quarterly for dinner and lecture meetings on neuroscience topics of interest to all care levels. We invite you to be our guest at your first meeting and hope that you will become a member of our chapter.
